EM Heater Selection Guide: How to Choose the Right Power for Your Equipment
Power selection of electromagnetic heaters is key to project success. Too small power leads to slow heating and inability to reach target temperature; too large power wastes investment and energy.
Selection key points:
- Workpiece weight: About 0.12KW per kg of steel for 100°C temperature rise
- Target temperature: Higher temperature requires more power
- Heating speed: Fast heating requires power margin
- Insulation condition: Good insulation reduces power requirements
- Ambient temperature: Low temperature environment needs more power
It is recommended to add 20-30% power margin on top of the calculation to ensure heating performance and equipment life.
